Responsibilities
You’ll be working on a belief market, a variant of prediction markets. At a high level, your responsibilities will include troubleshooting urgent failures and prototyping proof-of-concept features. Our services are built using TypeScript and Python with type checking. They are deployed to AWS ECS and AWS Lambda using Terraform.
You will be monitoring performance and alerts with Grafana, troubleshooting and resolving urgent system issues, and implementing solutions to prevent failures and ensure high availability.
Additionally, you will prototype proof-of-concept features to test product-market fit, to collect and feedback for future production features. You will balance short-term bug fixes with longer-term infrastructure improvements to CI and deployments to reduce technical debt and enhance scalability.
Ideal Candidate
Language Skills
Proficient in English for effective communication, both listening and speaking. Ability to clearly explain algorithms, code logic, and thought processes verbally and in written format.
Work Approach
Capable of balancing quick proof-of-concept work with structured refactoring for long-term sustainability and reduced technical debt.
Technical Expertise
Proficient in Typescript or Python. Familiarity with linting and type-checking tools such as MyPy for Python. Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Docker. CI/CD Tools: Github Actions, linter setup. Familiarity with Cloud providers like AWS Experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design and optimizing query performance for scalability. Experience in system monitoring, emergent bug fixing, and implementing solutions to prevent future failure.
