z/OS System Programmer (Intermediate)
Vị trí này làm việc remote tại Zimaw LLC (Việt Nam) với hợp đồng toàn thời gian. Ứng viên sẽ chịu trách nhiệm cấu hình, bảo trì hệ thống và hỗ trợ vận hành z/OS, thực hiện cài đặt–nâng cấp thành phần hệ thống với SMP/E, quản lý sửa lỗi, hỗ trợ xử lý sự cố, và cập nhật tài liệu kỹ thuật. Lịch làm việc theo múi giờ CET, tham gia phối hợp trực tiếp với các bên liên quan quốc tế.
Yêu cầu ứng viên có 3-6 năm kinh nghiệm với hệ thống z/OS/mainframe, thành thạo z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, SMP/E, có tư duy giải quyết vấn đề và tiếng Anh giao tiếp tốt. Ưu tiên ứng viên biết về RACF, USS, ITIL và có chứng chỉ IBM hoặc tương đương.
Role Summary
As a z/OS System Programmer (Intermediate), you will be responsible for day-to-day system programming activities on z/OS, ensuring stability, availability, and continuous improvement of the mainframe environment. You will work closely with DXC stakeholders and align with CET working hours for collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform z/OS system programming activities including configuration, maintenance, and operational support.
- Handle installation, maintenance, and upgrades of z/OS components using standard processes (e.g., SMP/E where applicable).
- Support PTF, fix, and patch management, and ensure proper documentation and change records.
- Assist with IPL planning/execution support, system initialization parameters, and configuration updates under guidance of senior staff.
- Manage/maintain common mainframe runtime components and services:JES2/JES3 basics, system libraries, PROCLIB, PARMLIB management (as assigned)TSO/ISPF environment supportz/OS UNIX System Services (USS) basic administration/troubleshooting (as needed)
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to system-level issues, working with infrastructure and application teams.
- Implement and follow change management processes (ITIL-aligned where relevant).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met and communication is clear.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation: runbooks, configuration notes, implementation steps, and handover materials.
Required Skills & Experience (Must-have)
- 3–6 years (flexible) hands-on experience in z/OS system programming / mainframe infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of: z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, dataset & catalog concepts, batch/job processing fundamentals
- Basic understanding of SMP/E and software maintenance lifecycle
- System logs, dumps, and common diagnostic approaches
- Experience supporting system changes in controlled environments (dev/test/prod).
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work with incomplete requirements (scope evolving).
- English communication: able to explain technical topics clearly in calls/chat/email.
Nice-to-have / Advantage
- Exposure to: RACF (or security concepts), USS, automation tooling, monitoring frameworks.
- Experience in managed services / enterprise operations (incident/problem/change management).
- Relevant vendor training or mainframe credentials (beneficial, not mandatory).
Education / Certifications
Degree in Computer Science/IT (preferred) or equivalent professional experience.
Certifications are a plus (IBM / z/OS related), as customer mentioned they “add value.”

Start date (planned): April 2026.
Working hours: must be able to align/overlap with CET.
